Popsicle Tree

Christmas Tree Painting
Materials: letter size paper, paint brush, and paint
Steps: Use paint to design a tree based on a student-centred visual arts approach, allowing students to define the work on their own terms. 

Construction Paper Christmas Tree
Materials: construction paper, glue, and scissors 
Steps: Cut a large isosceles triangle for the tree, using green construction paper. Then use other construction ppaer to make the decorations and the branch, gluing each one on the tree. 

Gingerbread Person
Materials: brown construction paper, paint, and scissors
Steps: Trace a gingerbread person using a printable sample. Cut around the edges to form the gingerbread person and use paint to make the decorations. 

Popsicle Tree
Materials: brown construction paper, glue gun, popsicle sticks, and other craft material
Steps: Use the glue gun (be careful when using it) to attach the popsicle sticks. Glue or tape on the construction paper to form the branch, and then use available craft material to decorate the tree. 

Snowflake
Materials: scissor and white printing paper
Steps: Fold the paper three times to make a smaller rectangle. Then, fold the paper once more to make a triangle. Cut different patterns and unfold. 

Snow-name
Materials: blue legal printing paper, construction paper, markers, scissors, and white printing paper
Steps: Trace and cut circles for each letter in your name, including one additional circle for the snow person's head. Glue the circles on the legal sized paper and then write your name. Use construction paper and markers to make the other decorations. 
Ice Cream Craft

Button Cupcake
Materials: buttons, construction paper, glue gun, glue, and marker 
Steps: Use the construction paper to form the cupcake holder and the top of the cupcake. Glue together and then use markers and buttons to complete the cupcake craft.

Ice Cream Craft
Materials: construction paper, markers, and scissors 
Steps: Cut out both the cone and ice cream shapes. Use the markers to add decorations to both. Other craft materials can also be used to add toppings to the ice cream. 

Popsicle Craft
Materials: construction paper, glue, popsicle stick, scissors, and tape 
Steps: Cut out a shape for the popsicle and tape that onto a popsicle stick. Then, cut other shapes with construction paper and glue them to the main popsicle.

Materials: one construction paper
Steps: Follow instructions on Origami Guide; decorate the origami hat using construction paper as a further step.

Materials: cherry blossom tree printout and paint
​Steps: Mix a bit of red and white paint in a bowl or container. Next, use a paintbrush to gently print the flowers on the cherry blossom tree. 
​
Heart Shaped Tree
Materials: brown marker, glue, paint brush, pink paint, and two papers
​Steps: On the lighter paper (white in the sample above), draw and colour branches and a trunk using a brown marker. While it dries, glue the paper onto the second, larger paper to create a border. Finally, dab the paintbrush around the branch of the tree to make a heart shaped tree. 

Painted Flowers
Materials: paint, paintbrush, and paper
​Steps: Allow students to paint flowers, showing one example on how to move the paintbrush while painting a flower.

Steps: One-by-one draw a leaf and design it using different pattern lines.

Materials: black construction paper, black sharpie marker, glue, paint, water, and white printing sheet
​Steps: Start by tearing the white printing sheet into a few pieces of paper, making both small and large sizes. Keep them in order and draw different lines on each torn paper. Next, glue each torn paper onto the black construction paper. As a final finish, mix a bit of paint with water to make water paint, which can then be lightly brushed over the lines. 

Photo Frame
Materials: construction paper, glue, marker, scissors, and white printing paper
​Steps: Start by cutting the construction paper like the sample above and then gluing it at the centre of the white printing paper. Using a marker to match the colour of the construction paper (or not), make several designs using lines and shapes around the border of the frame. ​
